It is big and peaty with a maritime tang the Bruichladdich team would claim that it’s because their warehouses are so close to the sea, we’re still undecided. In the end, the most important thing is the taste: it’s rather good. This gift set also contains a pair of glasses.

Nose: Very clean and appetising, with a gentle floral character.

Palate: The taste almost is really just a short beginning that crescendos and transitions extremely smoothly into the finish.

Finish: Finish is long, spicy and smooth.

Port Charlotte was a Scotch whisky distillery on the island of Islay, off the west coast of Scotland. The distillery was based in the village of Port Charlotte on the grounds of the former Lochindaal Distillery 2 miles southwest from the Bruichladdich distillery.
