A single cask bottling of Cameronbridge single grain Scotch, distilled in October 2006 and bottled in October 2021. The 15 years in between were spent resting in an ex-bourbon cask, which released a total of 283 bottles when it was opened up by House of Macduff for The Golden Cask series.

Nose: Vanilla custard opens the way with green apple and floral citrus. A touch of honeyed oak arrives in the distance.

Palate: Waxed lemons, creamy coconut, and melted milk chocolate, with an array of baking spices and kitchen herbs balanced by toffee popcorn.

Finish: Fruit-filled pastries, yoghurt coated raisins, creamy grain, and chunky marmalade.

Distillery Information

Though there is little hard evidence, Robert Haig was said to have operated the earliest whisky distillery and certainly the earliest ever referenced. It was in 1655, that he was frowned upon by church elders for using his still on the Sabbath and was summoned to appear before the Kirk Session. In 1824, one of his descendents, John Haig, built the Cameron Bridge distillery in Windygates in the Lowlands and it was one of the first distilleries to produce grain whisky.
