Rocca di Montemassi is a magnificent estate set in the Tuscan Maremma, in the heart of a unique territory located between the Tyrrhenian coast and the last offshoots of the metalliferous hills. Here the wine becomes the protagonist of the story of a sunny land, guarded by the Butteri, which plunges into the blue of the sea, between the green of the vineyards and the gold of the wheat, between Maremma cows and galloping horses. Owned by the Zonin family since 1999, it covers an area of 430 hectares, of which 160 are occupied by vineyards, within the production area of Monteregio di Massa Marittima DOC. The particular microclimate, influenced by the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea, combined with the mineral composition of the soils, is perfect for practicing quality-oriented viticulture and territorial adherence. In the estate vineyards the protagonist varieties are Sangiovese and Vermentino, but there are also noble international cultivars such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Viognier, which in these highly suited lands have always found the ideal conditions to express your own character. The management of the vineyard, inspired by ancient peasant traditions, has vegetative balance as its primary objective, so as to transport the bunches to the cellar at their maximum varietal potential. The new cellar, built after a careful conservative restoration of the existing structures, is surrounded by vineyards, maritime pines, olive trees and a small natural lake, resulting in perfect integration with the environment.
