• Wine Advocate: From a terrific vintage that exudes freshness and tonic fruit flavors, the 2016 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva Misco offers a clever and sophisticated expression of the versatile, workhorse Verdicchio grape. This wine is streamlined and tight; however, it does not lack for volume or girth. It is a lean to mid-weight expression that peels back to pretty layers of yellow flower, citrus, almond and crushed granite stone. There is a famous goat-and-pancetta recipe from this region, capretto alla marchigiana, made with white wine, which is a perfect pairing for this zippy Verdicchio. This estate is located at the heart of the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico and the Rosso Piceno wine areas. The owners are Stefano Aymerich di Laconi and Beatrice Lucangeli, and their vineyards extend from the San Vicino Mountains down to the Adriatic Sea and the Conero Riviera. Starting with the 2018 vintage, all farming is organic. Limestone marl and rocky soils contribute to the salty, mineral tones you are likely to encounter in these wines.

Tenuta di Tavignano was acquired in 1973 by Stefano Aymerich di Laconi, of Sardinian and Spanish origins, and by his wife Beatrice Lucangeli, descendant of a family from Marche with an ancient tradition in the production of wine. Tavignano is an estate of 230 hectares in a single body that dominates the countryside of Cingoli, which has always been known as the Balcony of Marche. The estate is located within the prestigious territory of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, Tavignano being one of the Castles of the denomination.
