      Reviews:

      • Wine Advocate: Scents of peach, honeysuckle, and orange zest on the nose of Coche-Durys 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignieres lead to a palate whose subtly oily as well as creamy texture fits its dominant citrus oil and nut paste flavors. There is an invigorating and refreshing sense of energy and fresh citric brightness in the finish here to compliment the wines inherent richness, as well as a lovely sense of lingering, liquid floral perfume, and a stony undertone. This has the richness you expect of wines from neighboring Batard-Montrachet, but a great many of those lack this degree of elegance or animation. I would count on it to justify 6-8 years of attention.
      • Burghound: A wonderfully fresh nose is comprised mostly by white orchard fruit, acacia blossom and discreet citrus peel nuances. There is outstanding volume for a villages level wine to the utterly delicious and highly seductive middle weight flavors that dazzle with their purity of expression and the natural class of Puligny on the impressively persistent finish. Moreover this is very much still on the way up and I wouldn’t expect this to peak for another 4 to 6 years. Simply put, Coche almost never disappoints with this wine.

      Producer Information

Coche-Dury is a highly regarded producer based in Meursault, Burgundy. While they make some red wines from Pinot Noir, the house is famous for its highly collectible white wines made from Chardonnay. In fact, Coche-Dury’s Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru wine is consistently ranked among the top 100 most expensive wines available on Wine-Searcher. The Domaine was founded in 1973, following the marriage of Jean-Franois Coche and Odile Dury, although the Coche family has been making wine in Meursault for several generations. Now, as well as holdings in Meursault, the family have vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie, Volnay and in the Corton Grand Cru vineyard. In total, the Coche-Dury holdings represent just over nine hectares (22 acres), about half of which are in Meursault itself. Coche-Dury’s only Grand Cru wine is the Corton-Charlemagne, but a handful of the domaine’s other wines are of particular importance. Premier Cru wines from Meursault’s Les Charmes and Les Perrires vineyards are among the most expensive wines from the Cte de Beaune, and the Coche-Dury Meursault is among the most sought-after. The domaine practices traditional methods of vinification. The white wines spend up to 22 months in barrel, with only a small amount of new oak typically used (except for in the very top wines). Since 2010, Jean-Franois has handed over the day-to-day running of the estate to his son and daughter-in-law, Raphal and Charline.
