Here we have the 2021 vintage of Joseph Cartron’s annual Crme de Cassis Cueillette! Produced with Noir de Bourgogne blackcurrants, harvested in the summer of 2021, when they were at their ripest. The result is a richly fruity sipper, with a hefty berry character incredible for splashing in a Kir Royale.

Nose: Sweet aroma of fruits with a hint of spices and herbs.

Palate: Dense blackcurrants lead the way with pressed fruit richness. More dark berries follow with jammy syrup, silky spice, and herbal depth.

Finish: Sweet and fruity finish.

Joseph Cartron are a French liqueur producer. They make liqueurs of all sorts, including kiwi and banana. They are very attached to quality, the local terroir and all its treasures. They have patiently built up over several generations very strong connections with the local producers of the Noir de Bourgogne variety. These relationships are essential to preserve all the character of this variety with a low yield (roughly 3 to 4 tons per hectare), which requires very caring attention from all the producers.
