Its been given a new lease of life by Phoenyx Spirits with a revitalised and reformulated recipe for the modern cocktail era. Originally marketed at a medicinal bitter, Dr Hostetters has been created to pair with Bourbon and rye whiskey, and has been re-made using American botanicals, red fruits, rose and carmine, as well as the majority of original ingredients.

Dr. Hostetter’s Bitter Liqueur | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Cracked black pepper, gentian, quinine and bayleaf with cherry, thyme-led herbal woodiness.

Palate: Herbaceous quinine and gentian bitterness enlivened by cracked black pepper spice and flavoured with sweet zesty citrus and red berry/cherry fruitiness.

Finish: Long bittersweet finish with black pepper spice.
